I Wrote You A Little Love Note On My BlackBerry

Feeling bathed in you, I got off the tube and must have walked a mile before work to try to wipe the daze. You are a charm.

It was a charming morning on Oxford Street. Crisp with no leaves to let you know it’s really autumn. At 5 I walked half way home. Crossed the Thames on the Golden Jubilee bridge and past the South Bank Centre. I smiled at the bottom of the stairs where we kissed last night before you took my hand as we walked to the station. On the train you leaned on my shoulder and closed your eyes. I held you and watched our reflection, the woman who wouldn’t stop staring on the left and the cute Italian couple who couldn’t stop kissing and kidding on the right. He took out a Kit Kat and I bet myself he would offer her the first bite. He did. We walked to yours holding hands.

We held each other in our sleep and the alarm sounded but my soft growl was no match. We kissed. My heart skipped 5 beats when I saw your smile and the sparkle in your eyes. I smiled back. “What?”, you asked me. I told you. You smiled some more.

This morning I got off the tube and must have walked a mile before work. The charmed morning was no match for your charm. At 5 I walked half way home. Crossed the Thames on the Golden Jubilee bridge and past the South Bank Centre. I smiled at the bottom of the stairs where we kissed last night before you took my hand as we walked to the station. Now at home, I still feel bathed in you. So, I wrote you this love note on my BlackBerry.

I had the best time last night and it’s not because we went to a fancy restaurant where the food was great and all the waiters gay. You let me talk about villages in Nigeria and you listened with interest at how trees were everywhere and all the soil was red. While we waited for the train this morning you asked me what a guava fruit looked like. I tried to explain. Then, we talked about mangoes and might have gone on and on about tropical fruit but pulling you closer was so much sweeter.
